To feed or not to feed?

To feed or not to feed?

The gardening season, and the flower beds with it, are waiting for next spring. So let's talk about house plants. It create comfort in our homes, are a kind of anti-stress, and, of course, clean the indoor air and enrich it with oxygen.
It’s real pleasure to see favourite indoor plants beautiful and healthy, but in order for them to please for a long time, proper care is necessary.

Indoor plants receive nutrients through the process of photosynthesis, as well as through feeding.
In winter, it is recommended to feed non-flowering plants once a month, and continue to feed flowering plants as usual until flowering ends. In this case, the amount of fertilizer should be reduced. Concentrated strong fertilizers are unacceptable in winter. Many plants are “dormant” and cannot absorb the nutrients we feed them. First of all, in winter all tropical types of indoor plants need feeding. Due to the short daylight hours and small pot conditions, their growth slows down. But still, many continue to actively bloom. In winter, it is better to use liquid fertilizers with a low nitrogen content, which stimulates biomass growth. It is important to ensure uniform distribution of nutrients throughout the volume of the substrate in the pot.

We recommend «Bioresource» Rich Harvest for winter feeding of indoor plants. This development of our specialists is already loved by gardeners for its balanced composition and high efficiency.

To feed or not to feed?

The pot in which our plants develop is a system with a limited amount of substrate. In the absence of fertilizing, soil depletion quickly occurs, regardless of what nutritional value we initially set. Long-acting fertilizers show remarkable results, but they also have a certain period of validity. Potassium humate "Bioresource" contains easily soluble humic and fulvic acids, which have a beneficial effect on the soil microbiota, supporting our pets in the winter with changes in air temperature on the windowsills, low air humidity and short daylight hours.

In winter, when watering indoor flowers, it is usually enough to add a few drops of humate to the water for watering.

To feed or not to feed?

It is important to remember that humates can interact with other irrigation additives, so using them together should be avoided. For example, potassium humate, when mixed with phosphorus-containing fertilizers, can produce sediment.
When to fertilize indoor flowers:
  • from March to September it is enough to apply fertilizer once every two weeks;
  • from October to February (resting phase): root feeding is carried out once a month.
Here are some recommendations for using humate in watering indoor plants

Stir humate properly before use. Shake the bottle before use. It is recommended to stir the humate in water until completely dissolved to ensure even distribution of nutrients throughout the soil and plant roots.
1 cap of humate in 10 liters of settled water.
Properly water plants with humate. It is recommended to water the plants directly at the roots or pour the humate solution into a watering tray. Avoid overwatering or flooding the plants to avoid causing root rot.
Monitor the plants' reaction to humate. High dosages should not be given. Carefully monitor the condition of the plant after introducing humate into watering. If you notice signs of stress or a negative plant reaction, stop using the humate or reduce its dose.
